Give certificates
A certificate turns “you passed” into something a student can take home. Design one for your workspace once, switch it on for a quiz, and every student who earns it downloads their own from the results screen. You can also print the whole class set from your results page.

Before you start
- A quiz you are about to share, or one students have already taken.
- 1
Switch it on for the quiz
Open Share, expand Link settings and set Certificate to When a student passes (it uses the quiz’s pass mark) or When a student finishes. If the quiz has no pass mark, “when a student passes” means every finished attempt.
- 2
Design it once for the workspace
Press Design next to the setting. The preview on the left is exactly what students will download. Choose from 10 templates (Classic, Modern, Chalkboard, Playful, Elegant, Ribbon, Minimal, Starry night, Professional, Waves), then:
- Wording: the title, the line above the name and the line above the quiz name. Leave a line empty and each student sees the default in their own language.
- School, signatures and logo: your school’s name, up to two signatures (names written in a handwriting font) and your logo.
- Colour, font and paper: colour, four fonts, landscape or portrait, A4 or US Letter, and whether the score and date are printed.
Press Save design. Every quiz in the workspace that awards certificates uses it, so a change shows on all of them. Download a sample gives you a PDF to check before students see it.
One design per workspace keeps every certificate from your class or department consistent. Make a second workspace if a club or another class needs its own look.

What students get
When a student earns one, their results screen shows You earned a certificate! with a preview, Download PDF and Download image. It carries the name they typed on the start screen; if you did not ask for names, they type the name for the certificate there. The certificate is drawn in their browser, so nothing extra is sent anywhere.

Print the class set from your results
On the results page, Certificates (N) above the student list makes one PDF with a page for every student who has earned one, ready for the printer. Each student’s row also has its own certificate button. This is the way to give certificates for a quiz with written answers: students cannot download theirs until you have marked them, but you can print them once you have.

Free and Pro
On the free plan you get 4 templates (Classic, Modern, Chalkboard, Playful) and the preset colours, and certificates carry a small “Made with aiquizmaker.co” line. Pro adds the other 6 templates, your logo and your own colours, without the line. You can try every Pro option in the designer before deciding.
A certificate, not a credential
Certificates are printable PDFs and images. They are not stored or verified anywhere, so they cannot be checked online and a determined student could edit one. Use them to celebrate and motivate, not as proof of a qualification. Students without a name on their attempt are left out of the class set.
Common questions
Can I give certificates for a quiz students have already taken?
Yes. Switch the certificate on, then use Certificates (N) on the results page to print one for everyone who earned it. Students who already left their results screen will not see a download.
Is there a free certificate maker without a quiz?
Yes: the free certificate generator in our free tools uses the same 10 designs, for any award, with a pasted class list and no account.
Can I change the design later?
Yes. The next certificate anyone downloads uses the new design. Ones already downloaded stay as they were.
